I couldnt take any pictures in the museum due to the many signs up saying not to, The exhibit that is on permanent display is The Lonesome Dove Collection. Arguably the greatest western made is based on the Larry Muster/s Pulitzer prize-winning novel. On display there are many things from scripts from the TV show to trail maps used to show the geography of the land on the show, The collection is pretty amazing to me and I am not really a tan of lonesome dove. There are so many small details of the show that oh get to see. It really catches your attention. You get to see so many of the props from guns to the saddles they used on horses. Though this is the only permanent exhibit the other exhibits are equally as great Another Exhibit on display is called Face to Face Portraits. This exhibit shows the work of over 30 photographers. Prom photos that included Willie Nelson and Texas State alumni George Strait to homeless men, women, and children from across the world. Two pieces from this exhibit really caught my attention. One Of the pictures I found very interesting being that of an older gentlemen sitting in a chair that I thought o be pretty unique. The chair he is sitting in caught my eye as soon as I looked at the photo. The arms of the chair have been carved to look like the head off cougar, with the legs the chair being cougar legs. The wood of the chair has many different shades of color. The man sitting in the chair is actually dressed cleanly but you can clearly see that he is a man of lower class. He has on old sneakers and looks like he is out in the sun for a good majority of his time. This one photograph made me ask myself many questions such as is he wealthy or poor? and TTS that his chair or just used for the picture? Or maybe did he make the chair and wants to sell it? The photo really made me think more than any other in exhibit. The other photo or photos in the exhibit that caught my eye were those of Willie Nelson. He had several photos as well as other notable things such as one of his songbooks on display. Nelson had his very on little display case of many notable pictures and accomplishments of his. The reason I really like this is because I am a fan of Willies music. Not only am a tan but also Willie actually owned a gas station and a house not even ten miles away from Where I grew up. So have gone and seen many notable things that have happened in his career as he put many things on display in his gas station. The most unique thing in the display was a songbook that Willie Nelson wrote when he was ten years Old. Seeing more Of his accomplishments was awesome. A third exhibit was Global Odyssey: From Texas to the world and back. It showcased many stories Of Texas Miters as they traveled the world. There are stories form men who severed in Vietnam. This was my least favorite exhibit of any not to say it was a bad one but it just did not catch my attention like the other exhibits. The final exhibit was Lass Samaras The Shadows. This exhibit I thought was the coolest of them all. The Photograph by Kate Breaker are amazing. This was my most favorite because I am an animal lover. Many of the photos captured wild animals in their natural environment. There are several rooms with pictures from this exhibit. One room had most of my attention, The room was all pictures taken trot a video that was filmed by a camera left in the woods. Other photos where actually like the outline of many animals. The most intriguing photo to me was a picture of a wolf. The Wolf is actually walking right toward the camera ND looking directly in to the lens with its head tilted a little to one side, like this photo because it shows the wolf checking out its surroundings and actually examining something DDCD It looks as if the wolf knows that the camera is not suppose to be there. In all the other photos the animals are either running or walking right by the camera. Am actually glad I went to the museum on campus and its the museum choose to write about. If did not have to do this critique and the museum in Arlington was not closed I probably Would have never visited the museum on campus. Having went really enjoyed myself. Even when given rules to follow she somehow always manages to find a loophole and does what she wants. She is your typical brat. The one thing she cannot seem to get is a boy. The movie is told from Cheer point of view as she tries to help friends and ultimately help herself before the movie ends. Ochers best friend is Iodine, Iodine understands Cheer because she aces all the same popular girl problems. Iodine helps Cheer with her fashion and trying to give the new kid a makeover, At first Cheer is against Iodine and her petitioners relationship but after a near accident Cheer realizes that the two are in love and ends up envying their relationship, ATA Frasier is the ugly unpopular nerd that transfers to Cheer and Iodines school. As soon as she arrives Cheer makes it a point of hers to transfer the goofy nerd into one of the popular girls. Iodine is uneasy with the idea at first but Cheer uses her charming ways to convince her to do ATA immediately falls behind Cheer and Iodine and listens o everything the two says. She is attracted to an unpopular boy but ignores him because Cheer and Iodine says she should be dating one of the most popular boys at school. Mel Horopito is the father of Cheer. He is a very successful litigator Who pays more attention to his work than to his daughter. He tries to discipline Cheer throughout the movie but she manages to always find a way to get off easy. Josh Lucas is Ochers stepbrother. Her father used to be married to Joshs mother. Josh has ambitions to be a lawyer and tries to learn many things from Mel. Josh and Cheer flirt throughout the movie but when she sees josh and ATA lairing she becomes jealous. However Josh and Cheer ends up falling for each other at the very end of the movie. When Cheer realizes she cannot connect with any other boy because she loves him. Christian Stories is one of Cheer main love interests in the movie until she finds out that he is gay. Christian arrives at midway trough the school year and immediately gets Ochers attention. She goes out with him several times and even tries to seduce him. When it does not work she thinks it as something to with herself, After complaining about it to Iodine and her boyfriend Cheer is told he is gay and she now understands him more. Throughout the film Cheer refers to herself as clueless many times. Even though she had many answers for others problems she often found herself clueless to her own. She helps many of her friends with fashion and boys. She is not able to get any boy she wants. She becomes aware of this and becomes depressed. Shopping helps her depression for a little while but she still finds herself down, She finally overcomes her depression when admits to herself that she loves Josh. After reading reviews on this movie it was actually a pretty big hit in I eggs. The movie was much more popular than most expected.

The professor’s pedagogical approach? Pass out mimeographed copies of his manuscript for a grammar textbook do you care to carbon-date the year I took this class? and spend most of each session plodding through a few pages, asking students to identify the part of speech of each word not in occasional exercises, because there weren’t any, but in the instructional text itself. This was a monumentally boring exercise for me (I never polled classmates about their opinion), and the rote teaching strategy was somewhat surprising, too, because the instructor was an engaging fellow who was also a leading actor with a prominent regional theater company. On reflection, though, it might seem the ideal approach to someone accustomed to painstakingly memorizing lines in preparation for essaying a role. (For me, who later spent considerable time doing the same, it had a perverse logic to it.) It didn’t work for me, though. I passed the class, but with only a tenuous grasp of grammar, and years later, well along in my editorial career, I was still shaky on the difference between adjectives and adverbs. Does that really matter? Is a command of parts of speech essential for writers and editors? Yes, and no. Some DailyWritingTips.com visitors praise me for writing posts about grammar. Even though I do not remember my grammar class fondly, I do think it had a latent effect on my desire to understand the mechanics of language, which I had never considered before (except in isolation, when completing a worksheet in a precollegiate English class). So, even if you think of yourself as a holistic learner, rather than a technically inclined one, know your grammar vocabulary (like the difference between a dangling modifier and a misplaced modifier), and endeavor to visualize sentences as machines whose components can usually be arranged in more than way but are often discovered, in one’s writing or reading experiences, broken and awaiting repair (or doomed, on the printed page, to a perpetual state of disarray). The Comparison of George Moore and James Joyce Essay Ireland is best known for its unique culture, the accent, the green beer, and the music. But it is also known for its diverse literature and writers. Over the years there have been many different writers with their own sense of styles and their personal views of Ireland. There are many writers, such as James Joyce, Roddy Doyle, Edna O’Brien, George Moore, and Frank O’Conner who all came from different places in Ireland or even moved out of Ireland. James Joyce and George Moore are two good examples of the diverse authors. Surprisingly, there are a few things these two writers had in common, yet their writing styles were different. Despite the different styles of writing depicted by each author and their different backgrounds, George Moore did have an impact on James Joyce’s writing. James Joyce was born in Dublin, on February 2, 1882, to John Stanislaus Joyce. His father was an impoverished gentleman, who had failed in a distillery business and tried all kinds of professions, including politics and tax collecting. Joyces mother, Mary Jane Murray, was ten years younger than her husband. She was an accomplished pianist, whose life was dominated by the Roman Catholic Church. In spite of their poverty, the family struggled to maintain a solid middle-class facade. From the age of six, Joyce was educated by Jesuits at Clongowes Wood College, at Clane, and then at Belvedere College in Dublin (1893-97). In 1898 he entered the University College, Dublin. Joyces first publication was an essay on Ibsens play â€Å"When We Dead Awaken†. It appeared in the Fortnightly Review in 1900. At this time he also began writing lyric poems. After graduation in 1902 the twenty-year-old Joyce went to Paris, where he worked as a journalist, teacher and in other occupations under d ifficult financial conditions. He spent a year in France but returned when a telegram arrived saying his mother was dying. Not long after her death, Joyce was traveling again. He left Dublin in 1904 with Nora Barnacle, a chambermaid who he married in 1931. Two of Joyce’s major works, â€Å"Ulysses†, written in 1922, and â€Å"Finnegan’s Wake†, written in 1939, are noted for the experimental language used in them. Joyce’s technical innovations in his novels include the use of interior monologue and the technique of the stream of the consciousness. He used a complex network of symbolic parallels drawn from the mythology, history, and literature, and created a unique language of invented words, puns, and allusions. â€Å"Ulysses† has many good examples of this form of writing. â€Å"We are praying now for the repose of his soul. Hoping youre well and not in hell. Nice change of air. Out of the frying pan of life into the fire of purgatory.† (Joyce 334.) â€Å"Dubliners†, another major work for Joyce is composed of 15 stories including â€Å"The Dead†. This short story shows Joyce’s technique of using a stream of consciousness in his writing. â€Å"Yes, the newspapers were right: snow was general all over Ireland. It was falling on every part of the dark central plain, on the treeless hills, falling softly upon the Bog of Allen and, farther westward, softly falling into the dark mutinous Shannon waves. It was falling, too, upon every part of the lonely churchyard on the hill where Michael Furey lay buried.† (Joyce 224.) In this image, Gabriel contemplates his mortality, and how his living experience intersects with death and the dead. Snow is falling everywhere in Ireland and in Gabriel’s life. This quote shows how Joyce technique of reproducing the chaotic manner of the world and how our minds blend themselves with the ideas and memories of our lives with unstoppable thought. This can also be seen in the last chapter of â€Å"Ulysses†, which is a soliloquy of Molly Bloom thinking about her day and her life as she lies in bed. Joyce used puns, parodies, and allusions in his works. James Joyce’s past was definitely an influence in his writing. It is interesting to see that George Moore was also a major influence in his writing as well, despite some differences in their backgrounds. George Augustus Moore was an Irish novelist, short-story writer, poet, art critic, memoirist and dramatist. Moore came from a Roman Catholic landed family. He originally wanted to be a painter, and studied art in Paris during the 1870s. There, he befriended many of the leading French artists and writers of the day. George Moore uses a naturalistic style in his writing. Naturalism, in literature, is an approach that proceeds from an analysis of reality in terms of natural forces. Unlike realism that focuses on technique, naturalism implies a philosophical position. It focuses on a characters instinct, passion, and the ways in which their lives are governed by forces of heredity and environment. As a naturalistic writer, he was one of the first English language authors to really be influenced by the ideas of the French realists, and was particularly influenced by the works of Émile Zola. According to the literary critic and biographer Richard Ellmann, his writings influenced James Joyce, and, although Moores work is sometimes seen as outside the mainstream of both Irish and British literature, he is often regarded as the first great modern Irish novelist. Moore’s stories incorporate loneliness, human weakness, the repressive effects of the Catholic Church on its people, and the implications of emigration, especially to the United States. In Homesickness James Bryden returns to Ireland from America and is dismayed at the tyrannical manner in which the local priest treats his parishioners. He gratefully returns to America and eventually marries there. However, in his old age, he becomes homesick for Ireland. â€Å"There is an unchanging, silent life within every man that none knows but himself, and his unchanging silent life was his memory of Margaret Dirken.† (Moore 59.) In the last paragraph of â€Å"Homesickness†, it is easy to see that James Bryden was homesick for America. He chose to live in the hustle and bustle of New York to escape Irish rural life. There is also a sense of naturalism in this story as well. Bryden is driven by instinct and his own human nature. He is trying to find an environment in which he feels most at home. â€Å"Homesickness†, in a way, reflects Moore’s life. He moved away to Paris; to the hustle and bustle of a big city and away from the rural Irish life. James Joyce and George Moore have different writing styles. But Joyce was influenced by Moore. With having such different backgrounds and different lifestyles, Moore seemed to have a major impact on Joyce and his writing. It is easy to see that Moore’s past in France and interests in philosophy influenced his naturalistic themes and way of writing. Joyce’s work was also influenced by his middle class past and his Catholic background. He wrote with puns ands many symbols; the stream of consciousness was also a major theme in his writing. Both men, James Joyce and George Moore, grew up in Ireland in the Catholic Church. They were educated and both lived in Paris for a while. George Moore was influenced by the French philosophers. Competition used to be between firms of same size and same capabilities, today the situation has changed and we can see competition between what is considered small and big firms and form different countries. The world is more globalized and flatter and big numbers of firms have equal resources and mean of production. According to Thomas Friedman there are reason behind a flatter world and reduced gap between firms in different countries (Insourcing, outsourcing, off shoring and supply-chain†¦). The concept of triple convergence is an addition reason for world flattener, the first convergence is when all ten flatteners work together to create a flatter, global playing field; the second convergence adopts new habits like moving from vertical to horizontal mean of creating value, in other words we must understand the process of new technology internally in a firm before the outcome reach the consumers, and finally the third convergence is the introduction of new people and tools in the production process and leads to more competition and connection between peoples. Out of clutter find simplicity, from discord find harmony and in the middle of difficulty lays opportunity† (Einstein). All entrepreneurs and CEOs are reacting to the changes in the world in recent years and the flattening of the world; it is clear that small and big firms are running after economic growth but can they do it without change in their core ideology? What must firms do to stay in business in a flat world? There is evidence today that all kind of firms and big companies are almost using the same technologies, markets and research innovations; this would lead to a competition between small and local firm and other international firms and even competition between countries. â€Å"What is unique about the flat world is the degree to which individuals, or small groups, can now act and compete globally† (Friedman 2005 p 447). Innovation comes from creating an environment that encourages people to stretch their imagination and turn the ideas into finished goods and services. These characteristics (technology, innovation and market studies) will allow the small firms to act big by implementing what you are imagining. The best example of a local or regional firm and competing with multinational firms is Aramex; the first package delivery service in the Arab world. When Fadi Ghandour the founder and current CEO of Aramex started the company, there was only one service parcel delivery operating in the Middle East and it was DHL. How Aramex became a competitor to DHL? They ecide to approach American companies like FedEx and offer them to be their delivery service in the Middle East in order to beat DHL because Aramex knows the Arab markets more than Airborne express and they started the delivery with the partnership of small delivery firms from Egypt to turkey and Saudi Arabia and lately to Iran and Pakistan, so as a result Aramex created its own network. In addition Aramex adopted Airborne system (computerized tracking and tracing system, unified language, and quality standards); as a result Aramex dominated the parcel delivery service in the Arab world. When DHL acquired Airborne and Aramex was left alone with no system to use, so they developed new one with the help of Jordanian software and industrial engineers and depend on the web and real-time tracking and tracing. Now the small company step up to replace Airborne due to an effective global network, by focusing on a specific market and serving it with high quality service with lower time and costs. Now Aramex is considered a flat company, according to Ghandour every worker in the company has a computer with e-mail and internet access so he can know what is going on without many reports from senior managers. He also said: â€Å"I was big locally and small internationally and I reversed that†. Aramex has benefited from the flattening of the world by leveling the economic field and breaking trade to barriers, any company in the world can compete globally. Oligopoly market used to show us a market with a dominant firm and others described as follower and mostly considered small firms; the dominant firm can set a low price and make it difficult to small firms to compete and sometimes force them to leave the market. When world become more flat according to Friedman, small firms can compete with bigger ones and the competition is not only small against small and big firms against each others. The main reasons behind the reduction of the gap between small and big firms are: technology, innovation, Insourcing, and market niche. Friedrich Nietzsche is considered one of the Western world’s deepest thinkers because he calls so many things into question. He felt that everyone would benefit greatly by questioning everything. In 1887 he wrote On the Genealogy of Morality to expand on his ideas he expressed through Beyond Good and Evil. On the Genealogy of Morality consists of three different essays that question and critique the value of our moral judgements. The first and the one I will focus on, being ‘Good and Evil’, ‘Good and Bad,’ in which Nietzsche discusses how goodness is relative to the eye of the beholder. He specifies two different types of groups, the first group being the militaristic and political group, which he has deemed the â€Å"masters.† The â€Å"masters† view â€Å"good† as having the characteristics of strength, power, freedom and achievement. This was done by reducing the cost of air service to attract the cost-conscious passengers. In this process, the management travel on budget career was not more than 3 to 4 hours. Reduction of the ticket price is a good pricing strategy for airline industry as it increases the number of customers (Yilmaz et al. 2016). However, certain development left a big effect on the operational process of FLY-HIGH. The operational cost became high and the maintenance cost of solid service and reputation of the organization began increasing. Based on this situation, MR. Roger Turnaround was recruited as the new CEO of FLY-HIGH. This leader wanted to reduce such issue by making FLY-HIGH as the market leader in Asian regional aviation industry. Low pricing strategy or budget career can be helpful for the aviation industry, however; it often increases the operating cost of business (Bolman and Deal 2017). Transformational leadership theory highlights that a leader works with his subordinate and identifies the necessary changes in an organization. By following the transformational leadership a leader can motivate their employees and enhance their performance. On the other hand, participative leadership is one kind of managerial style, which takes inputs from the employees and takes necessary decision regarding the service. Roger wanted to reinvent FLY-HIGH by incorporating new strategy. Roger preferred change management or business transformation as a leadership strategy. He focused on standardization of entire fleet to Boeing 737 in order to reduce the maintenance and operational cost. He offered to adopt multiple roles to the senior cabin crew staffs. He has established an air academy for the senior staffs to enhance the flight excellence. On the other hand, Rog er introduced training program by the senior to newly recruited personnel. Apart from this a training program for the mentor was also developed by Roger. Roger developed re-branding strategy for FLY-HIGH. However, re-branding is a useful method to increase brand awareness among the target audience (Aarons et al. 2015). Introduction of safety pricing was another vital contribution of Roger in the restructuring of FLY-HIGH service. Apart from this by introducing reward program and revised mileage program were other crucial initiatives that were taken by Roger. Roger did not believe in firing the employees, this was a great component of his leadership role. From the above analysis, it can be evaluated that introduction of multi-training program for senior crew staffs was the crucial role of Rogers leadership as it enabled the organization to reduce operational cost. Multi-training program helped the senior staffs to maintain the flight roles as well as ground roles (Groves 2015). This was beneficial to reduce the necessity of dedicated role. FLY-High had been facing high operational cost, which has a great impact on their business. In order to reduce such issue, Roger was recruited as their new CEO. Roger's leadership theory was associated with business transformation or change management process. It is important for an organization to bring change in their existing process or system to deal with an issue (Demirtas and Akdogan 2015). In the present case study, Roger focused on change management as well as transformational leadership theory to mitigate the current problems from FLY-HIGH. It has been evaluated from the given scenario, that Rogers leadership theory is based on the company benefit and individuals benefit. Different groups such as HR, mentor, marketing and sales executives are involved in this current change management process. In the given scenario, the HR has changed their policy in recruitment process as they have decided to higher more young people for their cabin crew job. This decision brought significa nt change in FLY-HIGH. On the other hand, the senior staffs of cabin crew have involved in providing training to the new comers and they also tackled both ground and in-flight operation. Therefore, the marketing executives are also involved in enhancing the revenue. A major marketing campaign was involved in re-branding by making a new logo, colorful websites. Introduction of flexi-pricing strategy revised the revenue and sales model of FLY-HIGH. Roger offered reward high mileage to customers based on their date of purchasing. This enhances the revenue by 7%. Providing training to the individuals by implementing multi-training program was significant in FLY-HIGH. Multi-training also helped senior staffs of FLY-HIGH to play a people developer role. This reduced the cost of hiring trainer to train newly recruited staffs. Roger's leadership role was significant for FLY-HIGH as the senior staffs showed a positive response to his multi-training program. This leadership approach ensured t he involvement of group and individuals in change management process, which was proposed by Roger in FLY-HIGH. In order to bring change in an organization involvement of every stakeholder is crucial as it is associated with the success of change management (Vrtesy 2017). Roger gave more concentration on enhancing organizational reputation and the brand awareness. For this purpose, he took rebranding strategy. This enhanced the online purchase process and led the organization to develop a partnership program with the hotel owner and car rental. From the above analysis, it has been revealed that each level of Rogers leadership in FLY-HIGH ensures the success of proposed changes in this organization. Among each level of leadership staff development or individual development program was the primary focus in this scenario as staff development is associated with the reduction of internal cost. In FLY-HIGH the approaches of staff development program meet the requirement of individual and group in an organization. Hence, from the analysis of leadership theory, it can be said that Roger's provided pri ority to the staff performance by developing themselves. Involvement of leader in each aspect of an organization is effective to deal with the current challenges in an organization (Van der Linden 2015). In this given scenario, the management style is changed into the leadership style as the theory of management is failed to get success in FLY-HIGH operation. However, the management has focused on budget career that lowers the flight cost and passenger mileage. However, this strategy was good to enhance the price conscious customers but this increased the cost of operation. On the other hand, there is no discount, which affected the premium customers of FLY-HIGH as they want long mileage. However, Rogers leadership changed this budget career as he increased the mileage and provided discount to the passengers. From this situation it can be said that the decision of management in FLY-HIGH was poor, which affected the business of this airline industry. This critical situation led the organization to adopt new leader and new leadership theory. As a result, changes occurred that means the management theory is transformed into leadership theory. Inability of management often gives rise leadership in an organization (Butcher 2018). In the context of FLY-HIGH their poor management process influenced this organization to adopt new leadership. On the other hand, management decision includes opinion of various people, which creates conflicts in FLY-HIGH. Therefore, adoption of new leadership theory enables FLY-HIGH to take necessary decision and no one can interrupt this decision. This is another factor, which turned the management paradigm into leadership paradigm in FLY-HIGH. Leaders of any organization play an important role in motivating the group as well as the individuals in a change management program (Yilmaz et al. 2016). In this given scenario, it has been found that recruitment of Roger as a CEO in FLY-HIGH was a great initiative for this organization to enhance their service provision by reducing the cost. The drawback of the management in FLY-HIGH was revised by the leadership theory of Roger. His leadership approaches such as multi-training program, re-branding, revised mileage, and flexi-pricing were beneficial to increase their share by 7%. However, the change management theory of Roger led FLY-HIGH to achieve a new-age career. By making the employee steady the management paradigm transformed into leadership paradigm. Roger's leadership role was beneficial to manage the safety and security in the workplace, which was not done by management. Management of FLY-HIGH introduced no frill fare while Rogers provided them full service. Hence, the ben eficial approaches of Roger leadership were the major components, which transformed the management into leadership paradigm.
